A father and son were injured in a car accident Monday morning. According to the Denver Post, a father and his 14-year-old son were driving to Heritage High School in Littleton when the father suffered a medical emergancy. The teen grabbed the steering wheel to avoid a near head-on collision with a car carrying four people, instead he smashed through a fence and hit a tree. The car rolled on to it’s roof, pinning the father in the car. Both the father and son were seriously injured but are expected to recover fully from their injuries.
A car accident can result in serious injury and death. According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, in the United States in 2008, 37,261 people died in motor vehicle accidents.
A Colorado Injury Attorney should be retained when an accident results in the death of a loved one. Injury cases may arise because of a variety of incidents, including car accidents, aviation accidents, defective products, job injury, or medical malpractice. Pursuing an injury claim will not bring your loved one back to you, but it will ensure that you and your children will have increased financial security in the years to come. Surviving family members may be entitled to recover compensation for expenses and losses. A jury may award your family monetary damage awards to recover some of the expected losses.
