The driver of a pickup truck was killed in a “single-vehicle crash” early this morning in Aurora. According to the Denver Post, the crash “happened at about 3:35 AM on East Quincy Avenue near South Pitkin Street.” The blue Dodge Ram “hit a curb, a street lamp pole and a dirt embankment, before coming to a stop upside down.” The truck had Kansas license plates, but the driver did not have identification and has not been identified. It is believed that speed was a factor in the crash, though the incident remains under investigation.
According to the Colorado State (CSP), there were 290 fatal automobile accidents in Colorado in 2008. In 46 of these accidents, speed was determined to be a contributing factor. It is imperative that all drivers obey speed limits and safety signs while on Colorado road ways. The consequences of speeding can be deadly.

A Colorado wrongful death attorney should be retained when an accident results in the death of a loved one. Injury cases may arise because of a variety of incidents, including car accidents, aviation accidents, defective products, job injury, or medical malpractice.
Pursuing an injury claim will not bring your loved one back to you, but it will ensure that you and your children will have increased financial security in the years to come. Surviving family members may be entitled to recover compensation for expenses and losses. A jury may award your family monetary damage awards to recover some of the expected losses. Saul Sarney has represented people who have suffered serious physical injury or the loss of a loved one, for over 30 years. He knows that when one of these unfortunate events takes place, you need reliable answers right away to deal with the immediate issues and future concerns. One University of Wyoming football player was killed and three of his teammates injured when a pickup truck they were in “drifted off a Colorado highway and crashed.” KDVR (Fox 31 News) has reported that the crash took place early Monday morning on Highway 287 in Larimer County. The young man who was killed was 19-year-old Ruben Narcisse of Miami. It is believed at this time that the three other men involved in the accident will make complete recoveries from their injuries. Colorado State Troopers think that the driver of the pickup, 19-year-old Trey Fox of Glenwood Springs, fell asleep at the wheel sending the truck off the road.
Sleep Review: The Journal for Sleep Specialists claims that the number of sleep related accidents reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is conservative. According to the NHTSA, there are nearly 100,000 crashes a year in the US involving drowsy drivers, “killing more than 1,500 Americans and injuring another 71,000.” The same report estimates the damages of these crashes at over $12.5 billion.
When you lose a loved one to a car accident you need a compassionate Denver personal injury attorney to assist you with your legal options. During such a crisis an attorney may not be the first person you think of calling. However, a qualified and passionate attorney can help relieve some of the stress that comes with the legal issues surrounding a crash. Saul Sarney has the experience and knowledge you need. A semi-driver died early this morning after colliding with a bison and rolling his truck. The Denver Post is reporting that the accident happened at about 3:35 a.m. on westbound U.S. 36 just north of Byers. Colorado State Trooper Nate Reid said the driver was hauling salt when his truck struck a bison that had wandered onto the highway. The collision caused the truck to run off the road and roll. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and investigators are looking into where the bison came from and who may own the animal.
According to Defenders.org, between 1993 and 2003 there were 26,678 wildlife vehicle collisions in Colorado. Of those collisions, 2,266 people were injured and 23 people lost their lives. Almost half of all wildlife related car accidents are because the driver swerved to avoid an animal crossing the road.
The physical damage suffered by passengers and vehicles in a truck accident is typically far more severe than in many other motor vehicle accidents. Traumatic brain injury, paralyzing spinal cord injury, burns and amputations can change the lives of victims forever. Denver Truck Accident Attorney Saul R. Sarney works with medical experts and life care planners to help ensure clients recover fair compensation for their injuries and the impact on their lives. An Associated Press article has reported about a 69 car pileup on a Arizona highway. The pileup occurred “near Phoenix’s downtown area Saturday evening, closing the westbound roadway for hours and sending seven people to hospitals.” Drivers were surprised by a sudden downpour, and a spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety said that too many drivers were speeding and following one another too closely for the conditions the downpour created. Traffic in the area was delayed for over three hours as nearly half the vehicles in the pileup needed to be towed away.
Luckily no one was seriously injured in the pileup. This is not always the case. 6 people were killed and numerous others injured in a 46 car pileup in Portugal last week. According to a News Scotsman report weather was partially to blame for that massive accident as well.
Car accidents and pileups can be deadly. An attorney may not be the first person you think of after such an incident. However, it is important to speak to a qualified Denver personal injury attorney as soon as possible if you have sustained an injury in a car accident. A knowledgeable attorney like Saul Sarney can help you understand your legal rites and options. For a free consultation and review of your case contact our office today at (303) 759-3300.

TheDenverChannel.com (7News) is reporting that “Pueblo police are looking for the driver of a truck that was one of two vehicles that struck a 50-year-old pedestrian who later died from her injuries.” The pedestrian, who may have been intoxicated, was hit by a Buick and then a truck while crossing the street. The driver of the Buick stopped to offer assistance, but the driver of the truck kept going. Police are fairly certain the injuries sustained by the truck are what killed the pedestrian. Police have a description of the truck and its driver from witnesses.
In the United States, a pedestrian is killed in a “traffic crash every 120 minutes and injured in a traffic crash every 8 minutes.” According to a statistic report by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Saftey Administration), nearly 4,400 pedestrians were killed in accidents involving vehicles, while 69,000 were injured. Most pedestrian accidents occurred in urban areas at non-intersection locations.
All too often pedestrian accidents result in very serious and life changing injuries or death. If you have been injured in a pedestrian accident or have lost a loved one to a pedestrian accident, you need to speak to an experienced and knowledgeable Colorado Pedestrian Accident Attorney to determine what course of action you should take. Saul R. Sarney has the experience and knowledge you need. For a free consultation and review of your case, contact Saul Sarney at (303) 759-3300.

The Colorado State Patrol has announced the implementation of a new program aimed at reducing the number of crashes between cars and big rigs. The Denver Post reports that the State Patrol will call the program TACT (Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks). A spokesman for the State Patrol is hopeful that the program will reduce fatalities caused by accidents involving big rigs.
In 2009, 31 people were killed in car-big rig accidents in Colorado. In many cases, the cause of the accidents was aggressive driving. The State Patrol believes extra attention paid to aggressive drivers will result in the overall decline of big rig accidents.
If you have been injured in a truck accident, we can help. The Law Firm of Saul R. Sarney will thoroughly prepare your case, deal with insurance companies, and work to obtain the compensation you need to recover from your injuries as quickly as possible. 9News is reporting that a man died this morning after his truck hit a cement truck head-on. The accident happened on Highway 56 east of Weld County Road 1. Investigators say that the pick-up truck was heading east and the cement truck heading west. Investigators are still trying to figure out why the accident happened but don’t suspect alcohol to be a factor.
When a large truck and a passenger vehicle collide, the results can be devastating. According to the “Large Truck Crash Causation” study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, when a passenger vehicle is in an accident with a tractor trailer, semi truck or an 18 wheel truck, the smaller vehicle’s passengers are more likely to be seriously injured or killed than those in the truck. The study reviewed 120,000 large truck accidents that occurred from April 2001 to December 2003. The study involved 241,000 total vehicles where injuries directly resulted from the accident finding that 44,097 crashes resulted in incapacitating injuries.
